Input into research on treatments for dizziness following traumatic brain injury (TBI)

Please join us at a patient and public involvement (PPI) session on March 10 2025 at 13:00. This session will be held online via Zoom.

About the session:

Your help is needed! I am a physiotherapist working with other healthcare professionals and researchers to try and improve care for patients with traumatic brain injury. We have found that benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a common form of dizziness, affects around one third of people with traumatic brain injury who are in hospital. At the moment, however, we don't know what sort of treatments are effective. We are planning a clinical trial to find out which treatments work best but need some input from patients and the public to help us decide on some important aspects of the research.

In this patient and public involvement session we will ask questions such as:

  • What is the best way to ask patients who are in hospital with a traumatic brain injury to consent to taking part in research?
  • How many follow up appointments are acceptable for patients to attend in a clinical trial?

We'd very much value your input. You don't need to have had dizziness or balance problems or a traumatic brain injury to attend.

All welcome. To register for this session, please email info@menieres.org.uk with your name and email address, confirming you wish to attend this meeting.
